Australian Sally Pearson has backed up her world champion status by claiming the gold medal in the women’s 100-metre hurdles at the London Olympic Games.
Pearson flew both over the hurdles and between them in light rain, clocking a time of 12.35 - an Olympic record.
Dawn Harper from the United States was second in 12.37 and fellow American Kellie Wells was third in 12.48.
Pearson told Channel Nine shortly after winning that she was thinking pre-race: “This has to be mine.”
Go Sally!
